What seems like ages ago, I decided that our sitting room / lounge / call-it-what-you-may needed a wee bit of a makeover, and inspired by a recent home soft furnishings course that I'd taken, also decided that I'd make some pretty piped cushions. But the intention remained just that, and the chosen fabrics sat on one side of my craft room, willing me to make them into fabulous little cushions. But I had things to do, places to be, people to meet, and other WIPs whose cries to be finished were more desperate . . .
(Regular readers may recall this post - see, I told you it was ages ago . . .)
Then a few Fridays ago, my lovely friend Clever Alice and I arranged a sewing day. She wanted to make a shirt for her hubby's birthday, and I really wanted to get those cushions made.
Clever Alice and the beginnings of my piping-making |
And so we spent a fun day filled simply with sewing . . .
. . . with a little help from my furry babes - the Jerry-dog taking an instant liking to the oodles of lovely fabric laid out on the floor , and it took a fair bit of persuading to convince her to move.
A few brews, some yummy freshly baked chocolate brownies, and a delicious lunch at the new tea shop in our village rounded out the day perfectly.
But all too quickly, our sewing day reached its end and "real life" resumed, so once more the cushions were relegated to the WIP pile in the corner.
And then . . . TA DAH . . . last Sunday the Hubby & I declared a day of rest at chez nous and I retreated to my little craft room and sewed up a storm.
You can probably tell by the abundance of pics, that I'm really chuffed with how they turned out.
Now just the crocheted chevron blankie to finish, then the sitting room / lounge / call-it-what-you-may, makeover is complete.
Can I get a YAY ?
: - )
'til next time,
xoxo
