Firstly a lovely big thank you for all your sweet thoughts on my last post, your comments are always so much appreciated - thanks for taking the time to leave them : - )
Yesterday I had the opportunity to do a Willow Weaving workshop at Winterbourne {that's quite an alliteration } which I really enjoyed.
It was a whole day affair (with just a short break for a yummy lunch) so by the end of it, my little brain was tired and my hands were sore, but it was so much fun to try out a new skill.
And the end-of-the-day result was a wonky unique handmade basket ; - )
I think I will probably end up sewing a pretty lining, and maybe even giving it a wee coat of Annie Sloan.

I'll be away from blogland for a few days whilst our family goes through some sadness and I'm not feeling particularly cheery or much like crafting right now.
But I'll be back and catching up soon.
'til then, take care & be happy

I did the same thing a few years ago, making a basket and a garden obelisk thing. It was great fun. Mine were wobbly too, but I'm still using the basket. Sending best wishes. xx

ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your basket - some years ago I lined a basket, then made a lid from thick card covered with fabric. I used a small piece of ribbon to make a hinge. Oops - as I typed that, I realised that it is about 20 years since I did it!!
Your basket weaving is just beautiful, Gilly, and I bet you'll sew up a very pretty lining for it. My thoughts are with you, hugs, Chrissie x
