Well, I wouldn't be so bold as to suggest that my crochet was anywhere remotely near perfect, but I do have to admit that I'm thoroughly enjoying the practising, and am really chuffed with these makes : - )
one side... |
...and the other side |
This Rooster Almerino (alpaca/merino) yarn is so soft and lovely, and the colours are so pretty, don't you think ? I picked these out to match the Sweetest Thing quilt that I'm making for one of our guest rooms - you can see a wee glimpse of it in the background.
and the matching hottie cover. |
And I also finished another hot water bottle cover for the other guest room - this time I used a super chunky cream yarn that was in my stash, with an equally chunky hook and it crocheted up super-quick.
So, with those all done & dusted {eek, that reminds me . . . really need to get the housework
done sometime . . . y a w n . . }, I've made a start on knitting up the flower yarn I bought last week. But more about that soon. Right now, I've some hemming to do . . .

Gorgeous and amazing! I have never learned to knit or crochet but I would if I thought I could something as pretty as what you have done! Those little hot water bottles are so cute!

Beautiful, just beautiful your work is perfect! As a child I learned to crochet granny squares, if my mother started them for me. I haven't done it in many years, your lovely crochet makes me miss it. Thanks for giving us all a look. ;-> Toni Anne
ReplyDeleteThe crochet all looks perfect from where I'm sitting :) I LOVE the colours you used in the cushion cover ... and they look sharp with the white borders (cozy, but crisp!). The hot water bottle covers look great too (I've been thinking of making one of these up this winter too ... one of those old fashioned comforts that I'd forgotten about). With all these beautiful accessories, I hope you one day do a reveal of your guest room when all done? Have a great day Gilly! Wendy:)
ReplyDeleteGilly, I love your pillow! And those hot water bottle covers!! They all are so pretty! I wish I had time to sit down right now and crochet, but I've gotta get outside and take care of the horses. And about the house work...I've been putting mine off for a couple days, finally cracked down and did it today! :) vacuumed, mopped and some more laundry. :) Happy creating and cleaning! :) xo Holly
ReplyDeleteLovely! They are so pretty. On my way to look up that lovely yarn now :) Elisabeth x
ReplyDeleteThe cushion is lovely! I love the idea of making matching things in different crafts.

Loooooove these - especially the first hottie cover. I'm determined to make one of those but I 'must finish some other things first' (grrrr) x Jane
ReplyDeleteReally pretty, love the green edging on the cushion :) xx

What beautiful creations. I want to come and stay in one of your guest rooms!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah - and you're always welcome to come and stay :-)
DeleteHave a great week,

I love your crochet, and the glimpses of the quilts behind! Since Malcolm retired (when he was 52!) we share the housework. We've got it down to two hours on a Friday morning - apart from the washing and ironing which I do on Mondays.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fair system! Mondays are usually my chores day, but last week I went shopping instead :-)
DeleteBack to my routine today though!
Have a great week,
xx
Your crochet is looking pretty perfect to me! I love the colours of both the cushion & quilt. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day,

ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Gilly. I just love the colors you chose. The cushions and quilt look great together!
ReplyDeleteIt's much more fun to make a pretty pillow than taking care of housework. Great finishes you have here!
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly! Crafting trumps housework every time :-)
DeleteHave a great week,
xx
Your pillows and hot bottle cover are so beautiful!! I have yet to crochet a pillow cover yet, so thanks for inspiring me to do so! Love the colors you chose!! Have a wonderful day! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteYour crochet is gorgeous :) I love the flowers on the hot water bottle cover. I think you might be needing to use that this weekend if the weather forecast is right !!
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie :-) Sooo cold here today, definitely glad of central heating AND the hot water bottle!
