It's been a busy week here, madly trying to get organized for our holiday next week, in between being glued to the telly watching the Olympics.
But on Tuesday I spent almost a whole (indulgent) day at our local quilting store in Warwick (the lovely Anita lets us sit & sew & natter for as long as we like) with my friend Jayne and our respective works-in-progress. I'm putting the finishing touches to the Soul Blossoms baby quilt, and Jayne is making a beautiful quilt for her daughter who is heading off to University shortly.
This is Jayne's first ever quilt and
she's put so much time and love into creating what I know will be a
much loved & treasured gift.
After months of hard work, she finally got to sew the blocks together this week, and there was much rejoicing !
So only the border and the binding to go - the end is in sight.
And I eventually finished my first ever Granny cushion cover this week . . .

Ok, so it's a wee bit wonky (I definitely need more crochet practice) but I love it :-)
I do however feel the need to point out that the orangey rows are actually a pretty coral colour and not as bright in reality as the pics above suggest. (I need to work on my photography skills too)
Anyhoo... back to the Olympics now, and the binding of my baby quilt. Hope you're having a fabulous Friday,
xoxo
