And sew the story goes like this . . .
A week or so ago, I was reading Bev's blog over at 44th Street Fabric (she makes the fabbiest of quilts and is always ready with a cheery wave - so do pop in and meet her) where she'd mentioned the lovely Jennifer Jangles. So, as one does, I followed the link and discovered the wonderful designs of said Jennifer Jangles and as soon as I saw this one, I just had to pop over and buy the pattern.
(I mean, you can see why, can't you ?)
And then it just so happened that my sweet friend Clever Alice (a.k.a Mrs Purple Pepper) who loves to sew, was having a birthday . . . so I delved into my fabric stash, wound the bobbin, threaded my needle and set to work.
And here's the end result -
t a h - d a h . . .
Some bits were a wee bit finicky but I had oh-sew-much-fun making it.
A perfect cushion home for all those pesky pins that never stay in their tin and always seem to end up on the floor. Now I need to make one for myself too : - )
OOh and just BTW before I go . . . this just happens to be my 200th post - woo hoo - and I've got a fab wee giveaway planned in celebration, so stayed tuned and watch this space.
'til then,
xoxo

ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! Sew out there but in that fun good kind of way :)
ReplyDeleteI really like seeing your homespun wardrobe for spring. I think that it must feel very good to take on a task like that and then bask in its glory all throughout summer :) I just got my sewing machine down from the attic after a long rest up there, got it to the shop to get cleaned and all fixed up and now its home ready to get put to work. I got some projects in mind and cant wait to get started. I seem to be getting the "sewing-bug" and its so fun to be inspired, thanks for that :)
Have a great rest of the weekend.
Birgitta xx
Very clever and practical, Gilly! I am not friendly with sewing machines yet, but your efforts encourage me to want to be. Thanks for posting!
