I'm a great one for lists. Lists are good. And especially important around this time of the year don't you think ? Christmas lists are the best - even Santa Claus makes a list . . . and checks it twice : - )
And the best thing about making a list, is the satisfaction and joy that comes with ticking things off.
So, in between the usual housework chores, errands, cooking and life in general, here's what I've happily ticked off so far this week . . .
- the quilt top that I started last week. I used the Layer Cake Lemonade Quilt pattern which is free from the Fat Quarter shop (here), and then just added a 5" border all the way round. I had already picked out the fabric I wanted to use, so I had to cut the 10"squares, but if you use a precut layer cake it really is so quick & simple : tick
Do you like the way that the Ben-dog even brought along her colour-coordinated toy to the photo shoot ? She has an eye for detail, that pup ; - )
- next up is a pile of sweet little lingerie bags. Another simple make, and oh-so-useful for keeping pretty little undies in when travelling : tick
- and lastly, a wee pinny. I love Lori Holt's Bake Sale range from Riley Blake and I've been wanting to make something with it for ages, so it's just perfect for Christmas pressie aprons : tick
I used the easy-peasy and oh-so-well-explained tutorial from Fabric HQ which you can find here.
One down, a couple more to go . . .
One down, a couple more to go . . .
What have you been ticking off your list this week ?
Wishing you a very happy weekend . . .
xoxo

ReplyDeleteHi Gilly what wonderful makes - my eye is on your lovely quilt - as you know mine will be tiny compared with yours but I have the most wonderful fabrics to start me off thanks to you - they are still sitting on my table and I cannot stop looking at them. I have so much to do but hopefully will finish an Advent calendar tonight to be sent off tomorrow - onwards and upwards.......A wonderful post as always Gilly, thank you so much
