It's in the bag . . .

I've been wanting to make a bag for ages, but just never seemed to get to
that point on my To Make list.
 Until last weekend . . .

So I thought I'd start the easy way, and bought a "Throw It All In Bag" kit from the delightful
Sew Me Something in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The kit contained everything I needed (with my choice of fabrics already neatly cut out and ready to be sewn), and a set of easy-to-follow instructions.  Just perfect for a beginner-wannabe-bag-maker like me : - )
So I set to work, and in no time at all, I had me a new bag . . .

I chose the cerise pink corduroy for the outside because I thought it'd be perfect to brighten up the approaching Winter, and the lining just matches perfectly too, don't you think?
Here's a pic of it inside-out so you can see it properly.

I have to say I'm so chuffed with my first ever home-made bag and can't wait to make another one . . . but there is that small matter of three quilts just waiting to be bound that are next on the list, so I really need to invoke some crafty self-discipline here  ; - )

Hope you're having a happy crafty week too,
xoxo

ps. Thanks so much for all the lovely birthday wishes, and a big welcome to my new followers too.  Thanks for popping in and saying hello.

  2. Great job on the bag Gilly! I've been working back through a few of your posts as I try to catch up with everyone again (pedaling backwards it seems!). Love the screen-printed chubby bird and what you've done with him. I'd be tempted to leave him as hoop art. The baby rhino was very cute too ... as is nosey Jerry ;) Wendy xo
