Quilts galore . . .

Today my friend Heather and I took ourselves off to the Festival of Quilts - an annual event at the NEC in Birmingham - and spent a few hours ooh-ing and aah-ing over the most amazing of creations, and the oodles of fabrics and notions and embellishments and . . . and . . .
Just more quilty goodness in one place, one could not imagine
 : - )

Just look at the hard work and care that has gone in to making these works of art . . .

"The Horizon you can see depends on Location and your Point of View"

We were so in awe of the displays of beautiful quilts, and so busy shopping that I neglected to take many pics.

Just a few of some of our favourites . . .

Fabrics Galore had THE most amazing selection of gorgeous Liberty fabrics . . . oh for an unlimited budget !

Such sweet designs at il etait une fois...

And the peeps at Sew Enchanting were indeed enchanting.

By the end of the day we'd exhausted ourselves and spent all our pennies, so we headed home.  Tired but happy . . . with bags full of goodies and heads full of all sorts of ideas and inspiration for new projects : - )

Happy weekend all . . .
xoxo

ps. if you're local and you love to quilt or sew  -  get yourself down to the NEC. The show is on 'til Sunday.

  2. I'm so envious. This is the first time for years that I'm having to miss the show. Seeing blog photos is just downright frustrating! Need to turn my phone off and enjoy the Cornish coastal views instead

  3. You can't beat a day spent like this to get you going on your crafty pleasures Gilly! Beautiful works, and I do like the sampler adage: "The horizon you see .. ... .. ..." Wise words!
    Have a great weekend!

  6. Those are amazing! The one of the people on the quilt with the dog, it looks like there is a quilt hanging on the wall behind them as well, that is a true artist that put that together, they are all gorgeous actually.
One day... I will quilt. One day :)
And a day out with a friend... Few things are better!
    Have a great weekend,
    Tammy
