Ok, enough already. . .
I love walking in the woods and watching the pups play.
I love having the time to knit and sew, and I do so love being cosy & snug in our lovely warm home. I'm safe and well fed, and I am very grateful for this.
I'm fed up having to don my wellies e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e time I go outside because everything is slushy and wet and slippery. I'm fed up shovelling and gritting, and I'm fed up not being able to get to all my usual weekly activities and excursions.
Yesterday I spent ages digging the car out and clearing all the snow, and then last night we had another big dumping and woke up this morning to find it covered again. Ggggrrrr . . .
{I am sounding like a real moaning minnie, aren't I}
Right - enough whining.
This too shall pass, and Spring will be here before we know it : - )

Tirade over.
Our little Ben-dog {seen here, looking ever so adorable, before her accident} has sprained her elbow
{ she has a penchant for batting around the back garden at high speed, and the vet suspects she probably skidded on the ice and fell awkwardly on it }, so as she can't currently climb stairs, I've been spending time downstairs with her. A perfect excuse to curl up on the sofa, catch up on some recorded telly, and knit.

On the needles at the moment: 2 things.
One, a shawl/poncho that I'm kind of basing on a pattern I have and kind of making up as I go along. It was just going to be a little something to use up the wool I had leftover from my cosy charcoal cabled jumper, but I'm only half way through and am now out of said wool. Gggrrrr . . . So until I can get out and get to the shops again, that project's on hold.

Number Two is another pair of cabled wristwarmers - these ones, a pressie for a friend.
I also have a pile of lovely mags, and my current book club read to get through. This month we're reading "It's all about Treo" by Dave Heyhoe, about the work of the K9 unit in the war in Afghanistan. It's quite interesting and Treo the dog is amazing.
Linking up today with Ginny's Small Things Yarn Along - it's always fun hopping around to see what everyone else is reading & creating.
Thanks for indulging my Wednesday whine. Hmm . . {she ponders} . . . whine? Wine? Aah, now there's an idea . . . hic . . .
Happy middle of the week,
xoxo

Thanks for the little chuckle at the end! Your snow is pretty, but it does get tiresome after a while. We haven't had any snow to speak of all winter, which is kind of unusual. Ben looks like he likes the snow!
ReplyDeleteTee hee, glad you enjoyed the whine/wine too! We had a weekend of rain so the snow's just about gone. Doesn't look as pretty, but at least I can get out & about again!
DeleteBen LOVES the snow!
Have a happy week,
xx
Ditto on the Whine ... oh and the wine too ... happy Wednesday!! xxx
ReplyDeleteCheers! And a happy week to you :-)

Awwww...bless your heart! I wish we had the moisture. We are in the worst drouth in our history. We are rationing water..just unheard of here. We are a big farming state so the crops are really suffering. The big trees are splitting right down the middle and dying because they are so dry they can't take the wind. I understand about being snowed in though. It can get so tiring. Sorry about your baby. Hope you enjoy all that sewing time!
ReplyDeleteCheery wave!
Bev
Eek, drought is a pretty worrying thing. Wish I could send you some moisture.. we've just had a weekend of rain!

Add me to the list of whiners about winter. I loudly protest every time I have to shovel or scrape ice. I like you idea about becoming a winter winer though :) Cheers to Spring!
ReplyDeleteConsider yourself on the list - cheers!
DeleteHave a happy (hopefully snow-free!) week,
xx
I am thoroughly fed up too - and I don't even do the snow clearing! However I have got an amazing amount of sewing done, so it's not all bad!!
ReplyDeleteOh well done on the sewing front :-)
DeleteHave a lovely week,
xx
Still now snow here but I'm not complaining about that. I hope yours melts soon.
ReplyDeleteHaving never lived in an area where is snows I'm not sure I can say I understand but can imagine it would get annoying after a while. Enjoy your crafting while tucked away inside in the warm.
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
Thanks Anne :-) It is very pretty, and fun at times so I shouldn't really complain!
DeleteHave a lovely week,
xx
Everyone does love a bit of snow, but I can imagine it would get tiring all the time being cooped up in the house lots.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to see you are doing lots of crafting, thats what I would do if I was cooped up...eat lots of soup, and crochet! And have a little bit of that wine...hic! :P
Soup & crochet & wine: tick :-)
DeleteHope you had a good weekend too,
xx
I hope the snow eases for you soon! Having never had it here, the idea seems lovely but I'm sure it has it's downfalls.
ReplyDeleteYour knitting pictures look so pretty! Enjoy, xx
It looks so pretty, but I think everyone's getting a bit fed up with it now. Poor Ben, hope he feels better and is bounding up the stairs again soon. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl - Ben is on the mend :-)
DeleteHave a great week,
xx
Oh,poor Ben! I hope he heals up very soon. It's so sad when they look at you with those big eyes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you,we've had enough of the snow now,it's so pretty but when it first falls, but not now with the slush and mud everywhere.
Roll on Spring!
Love Bellaboo :0)
Thanks, happy to report that Ben is bounding and on the mend :-)
DeleteHappy Monday,
xx
Oh poor Ben ... hope he is much better soon and that the snow thaws ... you seem to be getting an awful lot ... stay cosy ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteAwwww , Bendy-pup in the wars again ....Hope she gets better quickly; you must all have a spot a cabin-fever by now.As you say , roll on spring for you !!
ReplyDeletetrying to meet & greet all the folkses from the heart swap. I adore your lab...our Ginger is a chocolate too...don't they just steal your heart? (pardon the pun!) Love that you get to see all the snow...here in SE Louisiana, it was a beautiful clear day at 75 degrees. We whine when it dips below 50 around here....haha!
ReplyDeleteHello and thanks for popping in! I remember one day flying from a wintery St Louis, Missouri and landing in a balmy, hot New Orleans, still wearing my coat, scarf & boots which caused some amusement amongst the locals!! Hopping over for a peek at your blog now too - see you there :-)
DeleteHappy Monday,
xx
