Somehow I've lost a day again . . .
So if you've popped in from over at Vicki's 2 Bags Full Blog Hop -
welcome, and please accept my apologies for being a day behind : - )
I really meant to post yesterday, but Saturday just flew by amidst a
flurry of activities :
digging ourselves out from under a whole heap of
snow,
joining in with the happy band of neighbours to clear our street,
enjoying a lovely long walk in the woods with the Hubby & the pups .
. .
. . . and then suddenly it was Sunday already.

So, if you are visiting for the first time, here's the short version:

for almost a year now [wow, time really does fly when you're having
fun]. With the exception of an occasional diversion , it's mostly all about sharing
the joy of making stuff.
I love all manner of crafty things, but at the moment quilting, sewing, baking, knitting & (learning to) crochet are pretty much my thing.
That said, without further ado, here's what else I've been up to this weekend . . .
Piecing together a pretty pastel Cabbages & Roses quilt top,
a little bit of impromptu stash knitting,
and cutting up the truly oh-so-sweet Sweetest Thing fabric for my next quilt.
Hope you're having a lovely weekend too - and if it's a snowy one, stay safe & warm.

ReplyDeleteHi Kate - just a little bit further south west, in Worcestershire, pretty much half way between Birmingham & Worcester - not too far away at all :-)

Hi Gilly, the temps here have been in the high thirties...celcius that is, so I haven't been near the computer much in the past week or two, it's just too hot. How wonderful though, it makes me feel, to look at your gorgeous snow pictures. It makes me feel cooler just to wonder at them! Needless to say I haven't been near my fabric stash or a ball of wool either. I have washed my cushion covers though..they must have dried within about ten minutes I think! Have a great week..the puppies are so handsome too.
ReplyDeleteFunny, you were just on my mind yesterday, thinking I'd not seen a post for a wee while and wondering if you were ok. Glad it was just the heat keeping you away from your PC! Good to have you back, will pop over to visit in a mo.
DeleteHave a good week,
xx
Lovely lovely blog---wish I were there in your snow taking the lovely walk with you guys. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Angie - thanks so much for popping by and saying hello too :-) The snow is fun to walk in, it's just the driving that's treacherous! But a good excuse to stay indoors & craft...
DeleteHave a great week,
xx
Hi Gilly...Keep warm and enjoy your crafting, which all looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week ahead,
Susan x
P.S Your pups are adorable..love your pics!
Thanks Susan, and wishing you a great week too,

Hi Gilly - your sewing is so beautiful! I'm in the midlands too, ha, small world! ;)
ReplyDeleteLook forward to getting to know you a bit better - your blog is lovely xx
Hi Rachel - thanks for stopping by and saying hello too! We're in Worcestershire, just south west of Birmingham, whereabouts are you?
DeleteHave a happy Monday, hope you're not too snowed under!
xx
Hello Gilly, it is so nice to meet you! So you're a day late... we don't mind, the important thing is you made it! :D I love your house and the pictures of the snow and you walking down a path with your pooches! What cute names Ben and Jerry... any relation to the ice cream? I am your newest follower and look forward to getting to know you better and reading lots more of your posts!
ReplyDeleteFor now I'm off to visit more blogs but promise I will be back... I am also adding you to my favorite readings blog list on my blog just so I don't loose track of you!:D
Hugs,
Beth P
Hi Beth - lovely to meet you too! Thanks for hopping over and your sweet comment. Our favourite B&J ice-cream is Chocolate Fudge Brownie, so naming our pups was easy. They're both girls (sisters) but don't seem to mind their names! Am popping in to your blog now too - see you there :-)
DeleteHappy Monday,
xx
Hi Gilly, glad I found your great blog through GYB party! Looks like you live in a winter wonderland, gorgeous pictures!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading more about you!
Have a great weekend,
your newest follower!
Diana
Hi Diana - thanks for popping in and saying hello :-)
DeleteI am loving the snow, but the novelty of being snowed in is starting to wear off now! At least it's a good excuse to get lots of crafty things done :-)
Hopping over to visit your blog now too - see you there,
have a lovely week
xx
Hi Gilly! Oh my gosh, it looks as chilly on your side of the pond as it is on ours. I live in what they call the "Great Northeast" of the U.S., and I hear the temps are just going to keep dropping and dropping over the week ahead. All I know is I'm staying IN as much as possible! If I have to take the dog out, he better do his business QUICKLY! (0; Love seeing pictures of Ben and Jerry, and just LOVE the names too! (If you get another dog, maybe you can call him Cherry Garcia!.. My favorite Ben and Jerry Ice Cream flavor!).. Nice meeting you via Grow Your Blog, and hope you're enjoying the weekend! ~tina
ReplyDeleteTee hee - love the idea of a pup called Cherry Garcia ;-) Our favourite flavour is (obviously) Chocolate Fudge Brownie !
DeleteStay warm & hopping over to visit your blog now too,
Have a happy week,
xx
Hi Gilly, you sure got a ton of snow, we have only gotten a little here. Love the pastel quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terry - it hasn't photographed too well as it's so light, so hope to post better pics when it's all finished.
DeleteHappy Monday,

Hi Gilly. I'm a new follower from the GYB hop. I look forward to reading more of your posts
ReplyDeleteHi Kim - welcome and thanks for hopping over and saying hello :-)
DeleteHappy Monday,
xx
Hi Gilly, hopping by from GYB. I live somewhere close to you, Oxfordshire. Not quite the Midlands, not quite the Cotswolds. But right now I've left England and am in my other home in Vancouver BC Canada, leaving Robert to deal with the snow on his own (snigger). Actually, it's not so bad in OXON today. In Vancouver it's mild and the snow is on top of the moutains, where it belongs, and we can go skiing. Off to read some more of your posts and follow. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Veronica - how lovely to hop between Vancouver & Oxford, please bring some of that mild Canadian air back with you on your return! The novelty of being snowed in is starting to wear off (ie. we're almost out of milk) ;-)
DeleteThanks for popping by,
happy Monday
xx
Your house is so pretty with the snow, although obviously hard work for you to clear it all away so you can get out.
ReplyDeleteYour new quilt will be delicious. I have the same book "Sunday Morning Quilts". I just have to pluck up the courage to actually make something from it.
Have a fab week,
Anne xx
Thanks Anne - more snow overnight & this morning, so even more shovelling to do! The quilting book is lovely, isn't it. I'm hoping to do the one on the cover with my Sweetest Thing fabric. Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted with the progress ;-)
DeleteHave a great week too,
xx

Hello Gilly
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to meet you via our dear friend Vicki's Grow Your Blog Party!
Isn't she just the kindest person in blogland.
What a lovely post - I feel like we've been sitting down chatting over a cup of tea - getting to know one another.
You have told your story so beautifully.
I can understand how you must get tired of the slush and wet, but I would love to live in parts where it snows (especially at Christmas)! Where I live in New Zealand it's Summer at the mo, long hot days and warm balmy evenings!!
I love all things creative too - venturing into the world of quilting this year, oh those yummy fabrics of yours - from time to time I've sent Cabbages and Roses fabrics on Rag Rescue - do you ever buy from them?
I’m your newest follower.
I do hope you'll pop over and see me too and enter my GYB Giveaway!
Enjoy the party.
Hugs
Shane ♥
