This & that . . .

It's been a busy ol' week again.  Good busy though.  Fun busy.
A little wander around the Solihull shops, and a yummy lunch at Cafe Rouge with my cousin on Thursday, and a trip to the Literary Festival in Cheltenham with my book club girls yesterday.

But being out & about did mean that I fell behind with my chores, so I stayed home this morning, frantically cleaning and hoovering whilst Hubby dashed off to the airport to meet Oz, my lovely sis-in-law arriving from South Africa to spend a month with us - YAY  : - )

Oz makes an annual UK pilgrimage to visit family & friends and we always have a lot of fun.  Last year we fitted in a cruise to the Canary Islands and a girly shopping trip to New York, but this year we're staying closer to home and we have a whole long list of things to do, people to see and places to go, around and about in the UK. (So I am praying for very little rain and lots of sunshine - a big ask, given that it's October . . .  I know, but I'm still hopeful)

So, not sure how much I'll get done on the crafty front over the next little while, but I am hoping to make a wee start on some Christmassy makes.

This yummy jellyroll of Blitzen by Basic Grey for Moda was a birthday pressie and I'm itching to get started and make something fabulous with it.  Haven't quite decided what that will be yet . . . watch this space.

Also currently on my needles is the beginning of a new cabled cushion cover.  I really shouldn't have started this project before I've completely finished the socks-in-the-making that have been scrunched up at the bottom of my knitting bag since last winter. But you know what it's like when you buy new yarn . . .

And on an entirely un-related note, I shall leave you with this pic of my flexible Jerry-dog, fast asleep in the corner of the Hubby's man-cave (or Study, as he prefers to call it).  Arguably not the most elegant of poses, but Jerry seems to favour it as a comfortable sleeping position !

Have a great weekend whatever you're up to.
xoxo

I'm loving that crazy dog picture. Isn't it amazing how they can twist and get into some of those positions?

  3. Oh wow - nothing like having family to stay! I hope you have a smashing time together.

Love the idea of a knitted cushion cover and I'm thinking that a (very) simple pattern might be something I could cope with - I must look into it.

Sounds like you're in for a fun time with your SIL!
That jelly roll fabric looks gorgeous!
As for Jerry - its funny how dogs love that position - our little poodle does the same!
Have a good week, hope the rain stays away for you - wet here in the south this morning.
