A fabulous Friday pootle . . .

This morning my friend Heather & I popped over to Alcester, for a little mooch around the oh-so-lovely Material Girls yarn & fabric (and all sorts of wonderful other haberdashery goodies) shop.

Material Girls in Alcester

It's only about half an hour's drive away and between us we had a fair idea of where we were heading but too much nattering and not enough concentrating on the route,  found us taking three wrong turns. But eventually after a lovely meander through the country roads of Warwickshire, we got there.

We ooh-ed & aah-ed at their window display for a wee bit, then spent the next hour with lots more ooh-ing & aah-ing at the wonderful array of pretty fabrics and yarns in the store, and left, not only with bags of goodies, but also having signed up for a workshop next week to learn how to make those gorgeous fabric roses you can see in their window.  Can't wait - roll on next Thursday :-)

And on the Row Along front . . .

 . . . the squares are cut . . .

. . . and all the little caterpillars are lined up & ready . . .

 . . . to become BUTTERFLIES.

One down, ten to go  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend,
xoxo

  9. Well, that's not the first time the nattering has distracted the driver resulting in wrong turns! Michigan/Toronto July 1999 road trip sound familiar?

    1. EEeek Sue - had forgotten about that! I blame the Manistee fudge: too much sugar = lots of chattering! But we got there in the end and had a fab trip - that's the main thing ;-)
