Mags a'plenty . . .

So there we were, at Union Station in DC with about half an hour to wait for our train to New York.
Hubby took charge of the bags and the coffee order whilst I "quickly" popped in to Barnes & Noble for a magazine to read on the journey.
 What was I thinking?
"Quickly" is not a word that can be applied when it comes to browsing the Craft Mags section at B&N.
 Oh My Word - it's a.m.a.z.i.n.g  !!
I wonder if visitors to the UK think the same about Waterstones or W.H Smith here?

Anyway, at risk of missing the train, I settled for just one mag and added "Go to Barnes & Noble, 5th Avenue" to our "To Do in NYC" List.

Which we did.

And it was fab.

wonderful mags a-plenty

I got some more stars for my garland crocheted on the train trip and a couple more at JFK en route home too, so the little stash is coming along nicely.

... almost there...

And apparently, when in NYC, a wee excursion to Purl SoHo is de rigeur for any lover of yarns & fabrics. So I was told, by one of the lovely knitters I met in Washington - how could I possibly pass up the opportunity ?
So after brunch at my favourite Manhattan cafe, which conveniently just happens to be 2 blocks away, we popped in for a browse. . .

the delights of Purl SoHo

Another baby quilt ?
. . .  and left with a stash of oh-so-pretty fabrics.

Can't wait to finish the last of the laundry so I can get sewing :-)

Happy Tuesday, hope you're having a good one.
xoxo

  4. Hi Gilly..thanks for popping in chez moi...so nice to meet new bloggers

I envy you your trip to NYC - long time since I was there...going on 19 years now. I'd love to go again - maybe once my British citizenship is sorted. I avoid travelling too far with my SA passport.

I shall have a little read through your pretty blog now. :)
