Another week has flown past.
I seem to be saying that a lot lately.
But really, it has.
I always start the week with the best of intentions and thinking I've got loads of time to get the things done that I want to do . . . and then suddenly Friday comes around again and there are still a whole bunch of things on my list.
Do I need lessons in time-management, d'you think, or does this happen to you too?
Anyway, my excuse for this week is the BBC and their excellent coverage of the Winter Olympics.
In between the usual flurry of chores and errands, I've spent way too long snuggled on the sofa with the two most-adorable-pups-in-the-world cheering on Team GB.
But it's not been entirely unproductive as I am making great progress on my Chevron Blankie . . .
Just a few more rows to go before I introduce the soft green stripe. I'm sure I'll get there by the time the men's Curling team finish their final medal match this afternoon : - )
And I've managed a wee bit of sewing too . . .
. . . another skirt
with a pretty cotton lace trim, finished. Some of you asked about the pattern: it's the Hollyburn skirt from Sewaholic. Tres simple . . .
And another Infinity scarf .
So my S/S '14 wardrobe is coming along nicely, now we just need the weather to improve. Having said that, it's a lovely sunny and (relatively) mild day here today - a nice change after all the rain of last week.
Right, time for lunch then I'm hopping back on the sofa . . .
Go Team GB
Wishing you a truly lovely weekend,
'til next time . . .
xoxo

You have been very pleasantly occupied this week Gilly - way to go! Your blanket is looking gorgeous and with the addition of the green it will be even prettier I'm sure; and another skirt which is also very pretty - I do hope the weather improves soon for you so you can get out and about and show it off along with your beautiful scarf to fend off any brisk cold breeze that might dare venture upon you - the two will go so nicely together I think! Keep enjoying your viewing, hugs, Joy xo
ReplyDeleteOh my friend, I wish I could be sat next to you on that sofa, hooking away and chatting and cheering on the team! Just lovely...your blanket is coming along so quickly, perfect stripy gorgeousness! And you know I love those skirts...my grandma is encouraging me to have a go as well...you are always an inspiration! Cxxx

ReplyDeleteWhat are you taking about, you have got loads done, each project is nicer than the last. I love them all. And the Winter Olympics only come around every four years, it is reason enough to sit and crochet.

What a lot of making Gilly ... the infinity scarf is amazing ... I love it ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteIt's all beautiful but I especially love the skirt, very well done!
ReplyDeleteHello Gilly
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog, and YES I am from Durban originally, been here for 18 years now! I'll be 44 this year and arrived here at 25 years old. How about you? How long have you been here for?
I love your skirt, the fabric and trimming is perfect! Look forward to seeing your chevron blanket as it grows, I crocheted one a few years ago and its still my favourite xox Hope you have a good week ahead xxx
You know skattie I feel exactly the same and it is pretty frustrating right?! Wouldn't we all be a little happier with a few more hours in the day that we can solely dedicate to crafts, oh that sounds like music to my ears. It definitely seems that you had the right idea this week and if it wasn't for these little gremlins being op skool vakansie I would have enjoyed a little of the Olympics too. Loving your chevron blanket, it is coming along lovely and as for your pretty skirt, baie pragtig man, you are a true inspiration my dear. Sending you liefies and drukkies xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove your skirt and scarf Gilly - you have been a busy bee. I know what you mean about time flying by. I try and get into a bit of a routine but often that falls by the wayside and I'm back to where I started. Oh well there's always tomorrow!

Another pretty skirt :)
ReplyDeleteIt is mild isn't it ... 14 degrees here today where 7 is the seasonal norm. And how lovely it is to see the sun :)
