A mid-week round-up . . .

I've been . . .

  • enjoying the crisp winter sunshine and a lovely walk in the Clent hills;

{ sadly our last walk with Ben & Jerry's BFF, the sweetest-spaniel-in-the-world Breagha who is moving north to Scotland next week.  We're really going to miss her humans too.
 Insert very sad face }

  •  wrapping my cold hands around a steamy mug of hot chocolate after our walk;

  • finishing the crocheted Fingerless Gloves . . .

  • and blocking the (sort of) matching infinity scarf;

  • making a start to my next quilt - another scrappy trip;

  • hoping to finish the corduroy shift dress, but struggling to get the collar just right. I've unpicked it once already and I'm still not happy with it, so it's got to come off again . . . sigh . . .but I'll get there . . . hopefully;

  •  and thinking that I really, really, really, really need to make a start on that list of Christmas makes  : - )

 So what have you been up to this week so far ?

Hope it's been happy,
xoxo

  2. The corduroy shift dress is looking pretty tasty! I completely empathise re the collar - I am a perfectionist about these things and even if only I knew something was wrong it would bug me even if it wasn't visible!

  3. HI Gilly! I've been baking in the kitchen a lot lately. It's been so cold lately I just love the warm smells that over come our home while pondering around in cozy sweaters and socks. Love your scarf and fingerless gloves to match...very pretty and can't wait to see more on your scrappy quilt!

  7. Your dress looks fabulous, Gilly. Collars are sent to try us, in my humble opinion!

    As for what I've been doing this week - today I cut out 22 aprons. 15 of them in Christmas fabrics. No wonder my back hurts tonight!

  10. Lovely walk Gilly, but so sad the boys are losing their friend; loving your scarf and gloves as well as your hot choc, if only I could get hold of it! Your new quilt on the go is looking very gentle and pretty and I wish you the best with that troublesome collar - which they definitely can be!!! I am busy this week with Christmas makes and my imagination is working overtime! Enjoy the rest of your week and happy crafting! Hugs, Joy x

  11. Another gorgeous and wonderful post about your creative makes and gorgeous dogs. Not much happening here other than taking care of a very sick 20 year old daughter who may have either Measles (she's been fully vaccinated) or Atypical pneumonia or some other nasty virus presenting symptoms of the above two illnesses. With blood tests and xrays done, we're hoping for some answers. All this has come in the middle of uni exams, not good.
    It's cold here today, snuggling weather so I might just get out some crochet after the housework is done. Have a good day,
    Anne xx

  17. Dear Gilly
    You have been very busy! I'm loving the gorgeous gloves and scarf and the patchwork too. Your shift dress looks lovely too (despite the tricky collar). So far this week I have been planting tulips, insulating pots ready for the winter, embroidering snowflakes and spending far too much money on jewellery making supplies (no change there, then!)
    Enjoy the rest of your crafty week.
    Best wishes
    Ellie

  19. Well a very lovely mid week round up. I am loving the look of your neck of the woods, the perfect place to go for walks. Now I need to know which book those fingerless gloves are from, so please let me know if you don't mind skattie. Also seeing lots of clark and clark fabric for the next quilt, loverly!! Very pretty dress and oh my Christmas, it most certainly is upon us and I am so far from organised, unlike my usual self. It looks like the perfect book, can't wait to see what you make from it. Thank you for your very supportive comment, I really appreciate it. Much love xoxo

  21. You've been a busy gal with all these creations! Love the photos from your walk ... particularly the first one with that great lighting in the distant yellow field! Sorry to hear that you and your pups are losing some good friends (good excuse to visit Scotland!). Love the colours (& cables) in your fingerless gloves & scarf :) And now I'm off to make myself a hot cocoa (2nd time this evening someone has mentioned it on their blog, and my sore throat wants it!).
