We awoke last Saturday morning to discover that our BT Home Hub was on the blink, and despite the Hubby being very techie and talented when it comes to fixing things like this, and after spending a looong time on the phone to another very helpful and techie person, the conclusion was reached that the problem was going to require a visit from a BT engineer. But of course, with it being a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK, nothing could be done until today.
Now I realise that there are worse things that can happen, so I'm not going to over-dramatise the situation but it did go to show just how reliant we've become on quick and easy access to the internet.
A.n.y.w.a.y.s - the lovely man from BT arrived promptly this afternoon as scheduled, twiddled some wires, replaced the faulty white box-thing and lo & behold, we're back online . . . YAY :-)
So, now I'm catching up on emails and my blog reading list . . .
. . . .and discovered to my delight that lovely Chrissie over at Chrissie Crafts is hosting her first ever Giveaway. She has a copy of the wonderful Caroline Zoob book, The Hand-Stitched Home to give away to one very lucky follower. If you don't already follow her delightful blog, hop over here, have a wee peek and say hello while you're there.

Chrissie posted a review of this book a wee while ago which prompted me to buy it too - it really is lovely and filled with fabulous creative stitchy ideas, so if you'd like to add a copy to your shelf, do enter the giveaway.
And Chrissie's going to be hosting a Stitch-A-Long soon too - a perfect opportunity maybe to make a start to that long list of (dare I mention it in August ?) handmade Christmas gifts ? I can't wait to join in - it's always so much more fun when you craft with friends, don't you think ?
I'm off to continue my catch-up now, but I'll be back soon - I've been knitting, stitching and quilting . . . it's amazing what you can get done when there's no world-wide-web to distract you.
; - )
'til then . . .
xoxo
Gosh I hate it when that happens, my computer crashed a while back and it took days to get it fixed, I could not do my paperwork, blog, etc, it was horrible. Funny how much we rely on them. Glad you are back,

ReplyDeleteI don't think its to early to mention Christmas in August when you're talking about handmade items...it takes a while to get a decent amount of goodies done!
