What a glorious Spring day here in the Midlands - just perfect for being outdoors.
But as I'm still wheezing a bit and recuperating from the bout of dreaded lurgy, a walk in the woods is not quite yet an option.
So the two most-adorable-pups-in-the-world and I contended with some time in the garden this morning instead.
Me, tending to the cutting garden and just generally tidying things up ;
and the pups . . .
Ben - eager to play as always . . . |
and Jerry, just lazing around enjoying the sunshine ! |
Things haven't come to a complete stand-still indoors though, and this afternoon I finished off another WIP
- YAY : - )
This Hook Holder is another project from the lovely book Cute & Easy Crochet by Nicki Trench.
I seem to just be working my way through this fab book.
All the patterns are graded from Easy-peasy to Advanced, so I'm enjoying learning new crochet skills as I go along.
That little picot edge was surprisingly easy to do and I love the finish of it.
I'm looking forward to the final of The Great British Sewing Bee this evening and holding thumbs for Lauren to win. Although I also don't mind if Anne does - she's fab too.
If you're watching it too - enjoy !
'til next time
xoxo
ps. and thanks for all your lovely get-well wishes, I really am feeling loads better : - )
Can't wait....go Lauren and very very envious that you will be living so near her shop.....enjoy your visit and make sure you blog about it....

What an adorable Hook Holder. I really should branch out and learn some new crochet skills, too!! I keep making granny squares and doing nothing with them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah - it was really easy, just double/single crochet and a very simple picot edging :-)

Your hook holder is lovely! I can see your Brittany hook too :) Do you like it? I love mine but everyone else I've spoken to who has one says they aren't so keen.

Thanks Hazel - so annoying when work starts to interfere, isn't it? ;-)
DeleteAm enjoying your lovely creativity on your blog this week too,
xx
Oh I love your hook holder! It's so pretty! You've just reminded me that I bought some fabric last year to make a knitting needle holder and still haven't done it! My poor needles are still muddled up in a yarn box. A project for the weekend, I think :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling completely better soon!
Sarah x
Thanks Sarah - my hooks were living in an old biscuit tin but seem to be much happier in their new bespoke holder!

The crochet hook holder is wonderful, Gilly. :o)
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed the Sewing Bee. I won't give the game away as to who won but I do think she was the best sewer/sewist in the competition. I just hope my daughters don't get the idea of putting me forward for the next one. I'd be useless in front of the cameras!!
Thanks Anne - you're so right, Ann completely deserved to win. Oh I think you should totally enter for Series 2. You could just forget about the cameras and focus on the lovely Patrick ;-)

Hi Gilly...I hope you're feeling much better soon...there are lots of nasty bugs going around at the moment...we need more of that lovely spring sunshine, don't we? It's very chilly in our corner again this morning. Your hook holder is so pretty!...I have this book and I'm planning to do some projects from it (I've only just started learning but it's great fun!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday,

Your Ben and Jerry are gorgeous!
Thanks Susan - I'm feeling so much better now, and really enjoying this warmer weather. We actually had a top temp of 17C here today..yay ;-)
DeleteI'm starting another project from this book too, it really does have a lot of lovely things. I'm a beginner crocheter too, but the instructions are so clear and well set out.
And thank you from the pups for your compliment too :-)
xx
The dogs have really enjoyed the sunshine, haven't they? I hope you got a good dose of vitamin D as well! Your new book has some great sewing ideas if that pencil case is anything to go by.
ReplyDeleteDogs and humans alike are enjoying the current sunshine :-)
DeleteHave a lovely weekend, Carol.

Love the hook holder. Great patterns in the book too. It's very sunny here today but also quite chilly but at least the washing is drying outside at last. Your pups are gorgeous.
ReplyDeletePatricia x
