Last night I finished sewing up my cosy chunky charcoal cabled jumper - I'm so chuffed : - )
It's a perfect fit, and oh-so-deliciously snuggly & warm. Just perfect for the drop in temps that the weatherpeeps are forecasting for the weekend ahead.
So the next project in my basket is another crocheted garland. It's kind of an on-going/filler-in project as the little flowers are so quick & easy to make.
And I'm reading the three new crafty books that Santa brought me for Christmas - it's a lot of fun just paging through them, ooh-ing & aah-ing and making a list of all the fab things I'd like to make.
I received some fabulous fabrics from Santa too, and have plans for three new quilts buzzing around in my head, so it's great to garner ideas & inspiration from these lovely books. Oh, and the next row in the Bee in my Bonnet Row Along arrived in my inbox today too . . . Yippeee . . Looking forward to getting that started too.
Happy middle of the week - hope it's a good one,
xoxo
Your jumper is gorgeous! I've been writing (in my real job) for Gap EU and Banana Republic UK so know that a jumper is what we call a sweater. Yours is absolutely amazing! I am so impressed!
ReplyDeleteCheery wave from Bev!
Thanks Bev - tee hee, I had to "learn the local language" when we moved to the UK too, and have suffered a few mortifying moments confusing "pants" & "trousers" !!
DeleteHave a great weekend,
xx
Your jumper looks so cuddly and warm! I love the color too! OOoOo how cute those flowers look for your new garland! :) Such a nice spring mixture too! I just started learning crochet and I'm on my first project...it's so much fun! I can't wait to make many things! :) Happy Wednesday! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly - crochet is so addictive isn't it. I'm self-taught so far, but am starting a little course next week to learn all the basic techniques properly. Can't wait!
DeleteHave a fab weekend,

Great jumper but I have to ask, what is it lying on?? Rug, Bedspread? What ever it is I love the colours!
ReplyDeleteEleanor x
Thanks Eleanor - it's lying on a very pretty apple green & soft pink quilt that I bought about 4 years ago in Homesense (the TK Maxx home shop). I loved it so much, I re-decorated one of our guest rooms around it! It was on sale so I bought a smaller one too and made two square pillowcases out of that :-)
DeleteHave a lovely weekend,

That is a beautiful jumper! I love it. I'm always so impressed by people with have the skill and the patience to knit something like that. X
ReplyDeleteHi there - thanks for stopping by and for your kind comment, although I feel I should confess that patience is not my strong point, hence the use of quick-knit super chunky wool.. it makes the jumper look good and knitting go quickly!
DeleteHave a great weekend,
xx
Love your sweater and crochet garland!

Your jumper is just lovely, do you kind me asking where you got the pattern from?
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy :-) The pattern is from Issue 62 (Jan 2013) of Let's Knit magazine. The jumper is featured on the front cover (in a light colour wool though, not the dark grey that I used. (Www.letsknit.co.uk) If you can't find it, let me know and I can happily post the pattern to you.
DeleteHappy weekend xx

DeleteHi Gilly, I can just imagine you curled up on your sofa with that gorgeous charcoal sweater warming you up! It looks so warm, you'll be very toasty wearing it.
ReplyDeleteThe sweater looks so cozy and so pretty too. Love those big cables!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your version of this jumper, the colour is gorgeous. I now have to track down this pattern! I quickly had a look at the front cover in Let's Knit (online) and honestly, yours is so much better! Suzy x
