Soul Blossoms

Our visiting friends have headed home, all the chores are done and the house tidied. Calm and order have been restored.
So yesterday was a lovely quiet day at home. Just me and the two most-adorable-pups-in-the-world.
Time to get started on my next quilt - yay !

A few weeks ago I finally got around to arranging my subscription to the lovely Mollie Makes magazine which came with a bright Amy Butler "Soul Blossoms" jellyroll as the subscriber's gift.  So with an initially vague "make-it-up-as-I-go-along" idea of what pattern I wanted, I sorted the fabric strips into colourways: pinks, blues & oranges.

They all go perfectly together, but with the addition of the white cotton fabric, I'm sure I will get three baby quilts out of just the one jellyroll.

So this first (pink) quilt is going to be for a new baby girl who is expected to arrive soon. I hope she likes the pretty bright colours !  Winter can sometimes be fairly dull, so hopefully this will add some colour and enjoyment to her first few months.

Speaking of seasons, Summer is still eluding us here in the Midlands (and almost every other region !) and today is another rainy day.  But on the plus side: it's a perfect excuse to stay indoors and watch Wimbledon, and of course, create more blocks.

Wishing you a happy weekend,
xoxo

Summer is hit and miss in Suffolk also. What ever the weather tomorrow I shall be watching Murray in the final, along with my Rosie dog and a few granny squares no doubt.. :o)
